Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, confirmed that Season 3 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will feature series regular, Clementine.
In Season 1 Clementine was a non-playable character. Left alone in her parents’ house (they presumably didn’t survive the zombie apocalypse), she becomes Lee’s responsibility through out Season 1. In Season 2, she became the main protagonist. Given Clementine’s extensive role in both seasons, most assume she is and will continue to be the main protagonist of the series.
Kirkman sat down to do an interview with IGN to talk about the final installment of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Michonne. Towards the end of the interview, Kirkman confirms that we will in fact be seeing Clementine in Season 3 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series.
“We’ll be checking in on Clementine again,” Kirkman explains. He adds, “we’ll be seeing her, we’ll be seeing where she’s at and what’s going on with her.”
He doesn’t go into details as to whether Clementine will be the main character this time around, but he does confirm that the series will tie in closer to the current comic book series. If this is true, we should see teenaged Clementine due to the time jump. For those that don’t know, the comic series made a 2-year time jump in issue #127 after the events of All Out War.
There is no specific release date for Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 3, but it is expected to release some time in 2016.
